She is an American Girl

Grab a bag of popcorn, you will be here a while! My (7 year old) baby went to the American Girl Place last week with Nana. These are just a few of the picts they took. Nana did an excellent job of chronicling their trip. Thank you! Some of the pictures are out of order, bear with me, there are lots.
Here is Molly and Abbey waiting for the plane in KC headed to Chicago.

Abbey had the luggage under control...

she also had hailing the cab taken care of too. Molly is along for the ride in her backpack.

First out of order picture...The night before they left they stayed with Riley and Aunt Nae. Ate dinner at a Dino themed resturant and got to paint their dessert which was a dino shaped rice crispy treat.

Then they had to go exploring and dug up some dino bones.

They have arrived at the American Girl place, Abbey and Molly posing in front of the Kit movie poster.
Making her first big purchase...A new doll...Mia
Abbey is Nana's girl, look at that shopping bag...It's stuffed!

I need more hands Nana!

Back at the hotel she is checking out the bed provided for Molly and Mia.

Sitting down to quinche here thirst with some water with Molly for lunch.

Since this was for her birthday, she got a special cake to share.
Abbey met this girl with her look a like at the store. (She made another friend, but I just deleted the pict).

Abbey and the Bean in Chicago.

On top of a double decker bus...Got to sightsee Chicago and saw Oprah's house.

Abbey got to ride a carriage too, here she is with Tate...My horse girl!

It's been a long day...Abbey, Molly and Mia ready for bed.

A close up of Abbey, Molly and Mia. Now Abbey has two sets of matching pj's.

A new day and new adventure. Climbing at the Children's Museum.

This is a very interesting horse... Take a peek at what it is made of!

Abbey and a very realistic turtle at the Aquarium.

Abbey had a great time with her Nana. She said the American Girl place and the horse ride were two of her favorite things. Their plane home was late taking off and Nana said she moved as much as humanly possible without leaving her sit, and then fell asleep the last 10 minutes of the flight. I think her two favorite parts might have been her alone and quiet time with Nana, (it's pretty loud at our house most of the day) and not having to share the spotlight with anyone!

We are so happy to have her safely back home!

Out of the Mouths of Babes

Today Zachery got a piece of gum, I told him it goes in the trash when he is done. Little later he is not chewing it anymore and I ask him where his gum is. He lifts up his shirt and says "tummy". I tell him it was to go in the trash. This evening he asked for another piece, again same talk about where it goes when he is done. He agrees, "trash". About 30 minutes later he is still chewing it as I go to change his diaper, I am telling him what a good boy he is about chewing his gum and again reminded him that it goes in the trash when he is done.
My loveable little 2 year old, SWALLOWS IT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!! In my very STERN voice I say, "Zachery, that is not funny!" and he just grins ear to ear, laughs and says "Yes, Mommy, Funny!"

Peek a boo

Does it get any cuter? Emalie has such fun in life!!

Harvest 2008

Our 2008 Harvest is now underway as of yesterday the 12th. The first field they started cutting on got rained out last night but the Ponderosa didn't so the crew moved there today. Zachery has been looking forward to "my tractor" and "my bombine (combine)" for a long time.
Grandma Ray let Natalie drive the tractor today. Grandpa is the grain cart operator.

Jeremey is undertaking the truck driving, until the kids get to the field and are ready to ride in a combine, then he is the driver.

Daddy with Emalie, Zachery and Natalie after our ride to the elevator.

Daddy, E and Z headed to the car to load up.

We didn't stay to long tonight. It seems like it takes a couple of days to get into the groove of things and its alot easier to find the groove with the kids to watch out for. Heck, it has been almost two years since they have got to be in the field more than 7 days! We are praying for the rain to be taken out of the forecast. It's always hard to get the kids to understand that it's really OK if we wait until after lunch to get to the field. Zachery lately has been ready to go as soon as he wakes up!

Abbey gets home sometime tomorrow and we will take her out to the field too!

Go K-State

We have just taught Zachery to say Go K-State! and we got it on video. My favorite part of the video is at the end he says, "love you , Mommy" It melts a Mom's heart!

And they are off

For Abbey's 7th birthday, Papa Larry gave her a trip to Chicago to visit the American Girl Doll store. She is going to get PAMPERED!! They left yesterday to spend the night with Riley and Aunt Nae, boarded a plane this morning, and have landed safely, (I checked). They are off to the American Girl store now. Nana and Abbey just before leaving for KC

Abbey and Molly getting a pedicure for the big trip.

Abbey and Molly in matching outfits. This is what she is wearing today. I can' t wait to hear all about it!

Outside fun

I took Zachery and Emalie outside to take their pictures in the Wheat for their W page in the ABC book I am making for them.

Abbey playing 1st base in T-ball. I thought the framing of the fence was pretty neat.

Jeremey, Emalie and Zachery cheering on Abbey.

It got warm enough 2 weeks ago that we got out the sprinkle. Last years model has bitten the dust, so we got the Nemo mat that squirts up water.

The girls found a mud pile by the roundtop. I made it easier on myself to just have them strip down to their skivvies, that way skivvies were the only thing that needed to be washed.

I think this is a glimpse into the future. Abbey is going to pester Zachery ALOT! He is in tears because she wiped the mud on his belly. He didn't mind getting dirty, he just wanted to do it on his terms.
